Food Review: Mazzetti’s Bakery

On the twenty-fifth of September, on a nice Monday evening, I took my sweet tooth to a place of treats made with love. This place was Mazzetti’s Bakery.

This wasn’t my first time trying Mazzetti’s food.  There is this one very special cake I had encountered before, called the Derby Cake, which Mazzetti’s is best known for.  This cake is cultivated with either a chocolate or vanilla flavor, filled with sweet bananas and strawberries, and iced with the fluffiest whip cream.  But when I went there, I wasn’t looking to try the Derby Cake, but rather, all the other wonderful delicacies the bakery has to offer.

At Mazzetti’s I got an assortment of wonderfully baked jewels such as the :

Red Velvet Cupcake (⭐⭐⭐⭐): This delicious, not too sweet red velvet cupcake had the most fluffy cream cheese frosting and a mixture of red velvet and red sprinkles. It was a deep, rich red, with a light chocolate flavor that stimulated the taste buds. This was shaping out to be an amazing cupcake, but once I bit into it, I would have liked it to be more on the moist side, because it was a tad bit dry.

Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐): Even though you can’t really taste the raspberry, all in all it was a great cheesecake. It was creamy, smooth, and soft; furthermore, it was not too sweet and had the right amount of tartness. The graham cracker crust was firm, not too messy, held well, and was very moist.

Cannoli (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐): This wonderful cannoli had a luscious chocolate coating and cherries on both sides. It had a very flaky wrap which gave the perfect variation between crunchy on the outside and doughy on the inside. The cream was very smooth, not too sweet, and even had a little surprise of pineapple inside.

Apple Strudel/Strip (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐): This mouthwatering apple strudel/strip was not too sweet and felt like heaven on the tongue. The crust was the similar to the cannoli crust and it was topped with powdered sugar. That made it even better. It was filled with a fluffy whipped cream, sweet apples, and cinnamon. Even though it would have been better fresh, it was the best dessert out of everything I tried.
