Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Daly City Police received a report of a possible gunman in Serramonte Medical-Dental Center. Police were searching for an Asian male in his late 60s. The gunman was later found at 10:00pm on Wednesday night.
At about 1:30pm, a doctor called 911 and said they had seen a man holding a gun on the second floor of the building. The doctor heard gunshots and fled. Police then conducted a reverse 911 call to contact the remaining occupants to ask them to stay sheltered. A SWAT team searched the two floors of the building and found no sign of victim or shooter. However, they found bullet fragments in the hallway.
The shooter, Raymond Iwase, was found in his home on Plymouth Circle, where investigators found the gun and ammunition. He surrendered without incident and was taken to San Mateo County Jail for suspicion of attempt murder.
