After a very riveting game on Sunday for the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle will be on their way to challenge the Denver Broncos at the 2014 Superbowl in New Jersey.

Sunday’s game, while heartbreaking for all ‘Niner fans, should also be looked upon as a celebration of football itself.  The game matched the best teams against one another.  It was well played and close throughout.  It literally could have gone either way – a bad call here, a dropped ball there – the teams were so well matched.

The ‘Niners defense deserves a shout out for how wonderfully they have played all year.  Sunday was no exception.  The last 40 seconds of the game were very intense with the 49ers only down by 6. Colin Kaepernick, from the 49ers,  made the decision not to take a timeout and to make a throw to Michael Crabtree in the end zone.  Kaepernick played a great game. The last pass to Crabtree was only a fingertip away from greatness, and boy can he run!

What was not great was the horrible behavior by a few select Seattle fans who threw food and garbage at an injured ‘Niner as he was carted off the field.  They looked like fools on national TV.

What is now the most famous moment came when Sherman went on his rant after the game, telling any who would listen how great he is while bad-mouthing Crab is – Totally classless. Sherman had told a reporter “Well, I’m the best corner in the game!” Sherman shouted.  “When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree that’s the result you’re gonna get!  Don’t you ever talk about me!”

Articles now say how bright and well educated he is and he was just caught up, but most say otherwise. There are a lot of people who are well educated, who have degrees from Stanford, Ivy League schools, etc and all of them know how to conduct themselves like well spoken, articulate individuals, with the common sense of sportsmanship.  However the stuff coming out of Sherman’s mouth proved exactly how educated he really is. I think the best way for the media to deal with Sherman is to give him no press and no camera’s! Nonetheless we should all thank niners for a wonderful season and next year will be ours!
