Walter Mitty, played by the director, Ben Stiller, is an archetypal daydreamer who goes through a life-changing experience. Apart from his job, Mitty stays daydreaming about Cheryl, played by Kristin Wiig.

Mitty works for LIFE, a magazine similar to TIME, as a negative assets manager.  Sean O’Connell, played by Sean Penn, is a photographer who trusted Mitty with his negatives. Mitty finds himself in a bit of a situation when he couldn’t find “Negative 25,” the photo that was supposed to be used as the last cover of the magazine.  Mitty first starts his journey by only looking in the office. After being unsuccessful on finding the negative in the office, he gains a lot of clues that lead him into where O’Connell ends up. With the clues, Mitty goes on an adventurous journey from Greenland all the way to the Himalayan Mountains and beyond, eventually finding O’Connell. Each location he visits, he gains a new clue, but at some point, he is afraid to continue onto his journey. Cheryl, however, motivates him to continue his journey. This leads him to realizing that life is just as great as his imagination is.

Ben Stiller makes this movie very adventurous when he makes his character travel from location to location and experience crazy things like running away from an erupting volcano. This is also a comedy because the use of embarrassing moments of Mitty’s life and the use of Mitty’s imagination. Cheryl (Kristen Wiig) was seen a lot throughout the movie, mostly through Mitty’s imagination. I think Kristen Wiig was a great person for this because of her sense of humor and acting skills. As for Ben Stiller’s part as Walter Mitty, I would of rather seen Steve Carell play his part because from other movies, Steve Carell just seems the kind of person to play Mitty because of Carell’s humor.

Personally, I had a love hate relationship with this movie because I didn’t get how each adventure or each conflict related to the real point of Mitty’s mission. I did like the movie towards the end because it was cool to see how adventurous Mitty was. I recommend this movie to people who are looking for a movie with adventure and comedy. It was certainly worth the money. If you like adventure or comedy movies, this is definitely the movie for you.
