Book Reccomendations to Read Over Break

Winter break is a time to relax. Curling up in a ball and reading something non-school related is a perfect way to travel into a different world without actually leaving your cozy home. Here are some book recommendations from your peers, here at Oceana.

#1 The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins
Many of you have heard of this blockbuster hit, but have you read the books? If you have already seen the movies you can relive the excitement in a whole new way through the pages of one of these suspenseful stories. Senior Marilyn Oliva assures that the books are “very imaginative and take you to another dimension.”

#3 Will Grayson Will Grayson, by John Green and David Levithan
This book perfectly captures the struggles of being a teenager in our modern age. Senior Nekeisha Barnett, gives it a “ten out of ten” for its realistic depiction of growing up in our world.

#4 The Perks of Being  a Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky
Another hit in the theaters, Senior Travis Nukolls, recommends this novel because, “it was very emotionally captivating.” Many movie reviews say that the book is even more entertaining than sitting through the dramatic movie.
