How-To Treat Your Hair With Home Remedies

Many people believe having to treat your hair is very costly. Don’t waste any more money because you can treat your hair using items you already have at home.

Here are some tips:

  • Dandruff/Flaky Hair
    • Dandruff or flaky hair is often caused by simply having a dry scalp. Not brushing your hair all the time, not shampooing enough, being stressed, and having a poor diet can all lead to dandruff.
    • One way to treat dandruff is by simply massaging your scalp with olive oil. Olive oil is a great essential oil that helps with restoring natural oil back into your scalp.
      • Materials
        • Olive oil
        • A bowl
          • With dry hair, massage in warm olive oil. Keep in mind that the oil is best warm rather than cold. Leave the olive oil in overnight to help bring back some natural oils. Then, the next morning, shampoo your hair.
    • Another way is warming up coconut oil and squeezing in lemon juice. Doing this will help naturally fight the dandruff using citric acid.
      • Materials
        • Five tablespoons of coconut oil
        • A stove top
        • Two tablespoons of lemon juice
          • Get a bowl. Place in five tablespoons of coconut oil and warm it up on a stove top. Then, mix in two tablespoons of lemon juice. Massage the mixture into your hair and leave in for 15 minutes. Rinse and then shampoo.
  • With these methods, do any of them two to four times a week to slowly remove dandruff.

  • Frizzy Hair
    • Frizzy hair is probably one of a girl’s worst nightmares. Frizzy hair is caused by constant use of hot tools, harsh chemicals, and even hot oil treatments from the salon. Having frizzy hair is really hard to manage and sometimes, you just want to simply put it up in a bun and forget about it.
    • An avocado mixture is a really great way to deal with frizzy hair. Avocado contains fatty acids that will help smooth out your frizz. Olive oil is simply a way to shine your hair while also rehydrating your hair.
      • Materials
        • 1 Avocado
        • Olive Oil (About 1/2  tablespoon)
          • Mash up an avocado. Mix in a splash of olive oil. Once your mixture is fully combined, shampoo your hair and rinse. After that, cover your entire hair with the avocado olive oil mixture and leave in for 30 – 60 minutes, depending on how bad your frizz is. Then, simply rinse it out.
  • Honey is also a great way to deal with your frizzy hair. Not only will the honey help de-frizz your hair, honey also helps lighten your hair naturally.
      • Materials
        • A mug
        • Water (About the amount of a mug)
        • Two tablespoons of honey
          • Simply just get a mug of water, mix in two tablespoons of honey and massage the concoction into your scalp. Leave the mixture in your hair for about five minutes and then rinse. For better results, shampooing every other day is best. Use this remedy regularly until you are satisfied.

  • Damaged/Dry Hair
    • Years of dying your hair, straightening your hair, or simply just blow-drying your hair, can get damaged and/or dry. Due to these causes, your hair loses moisture and tends to break.
    • As weird as it sounds, mayonnaise is a great way to moisturize your hair. Mayonnaise actually contains L-cysteine, which is a strong anti-oxidant that provides strength, shine, and volume to your hair.
      • Materials
        • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
        • A bowl
        • Shower Cap
          • Get a half of cup of mayonnaise (maybe less or more, depending on your hair length and thickness), then put the mayo into parts of your hair that are mostly damaged or dry. Once it’s all worked in, cover your hair with a shower cap and leave on for 30 minutes. Lastly, rinse with cold water and shampoo.
    • Beer may just be an alcoholic drink but beer is actually very beneficial to your hair. Drinking it isn’t so beneficial, but beer contains vitamin B that will leave you with radiant and smooth hair.
      • Materials
        • Light Beer (Bud Light, Miller Light, etc.)
        • Two cups of water
          • Get two cups of water and mix in light beer. Shampoo your hair and rinse your hair with the beer water concoction. Once you are done rinsing, let your hair dry naturally. For better results, do not rinse your hair again.
