“The Love Club”, an EP created by singer/songwriter Lorde, has five songs written by the artist that describe the things she sees in her world.
The 16-year-old singer, Ella Yelich-O’Connor, stage name “Lorde”, grew up in New Zealand and is now becoming a major hit within the music industry.
This young artist creates her music with her producer Joel Little. She writes about what she believes everyone around her thinks about and turns it into a song. She has found that starting out her career as a singer in New Zealand has been a somewhat bittersweet thing for her, in that there is no concept of rising fame and growing up and starting in that environment has kept her very grounded. She tries to create a lot of downtime with friends and family, while still maintaining a focus on her music.
Lorde released a new breakout single, from her upcoming album, called “Team.” The song gives a mellow rhythmic tune that can catch any listeners’ attention. Billboard states that the single “Royals” has been number three on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for over a month and has made history by topping Billboards Alternative chart. Her upcoming album “Pure Heroine” is scheduled to be released on Sept. 30, 2013.
She’s found that through working on her debut album, “The Love Club” writing music and singing is something she wants to make a career out of for the rest of her life.
