The film world lost another legend this year, as special effects icon Ray Harryhausen passed away on Tuesday, May 7, at the age of 92. Harryhausen was a pioneer of stop-motion animation and was famed for fantasy classics such as The 7th Voyage of Sinbad and the original Clash of the Titans. Many in the industry mourn the loss of such an inspirational visionary, with Steven Spielberg stating that “without his work, there never would have been a Star Wars or a Jurassic Park.”
