The San Francisco 49ers entered the 2013 NFL draft with a league high of 13 picks and they used them wisely. The 49ers did not plan on drafting 13 players.  What they planned to do was trade up to get quality players and that’s exactly what they did.

First Round:

  • traded two picks with the Dallas Cowboys
  • took safety Eric Reid, 18th overall from LSU, who will fill in for the hard hitting Dashon Goldson

Second Round:

  • drafted Cornellius “Tank” Carradine, a defensive end from Florida and 40th pick overall, to add more power to the 49ers’ defense and tight end Vance McDonald, 55th overall to replace Delanie Walker

Third Round:

  • drafted Corey Lemonier, a defensive end from Auburn and 88th overall

Fourth Round:

  • drafted Quinton Patton, a wide receiver from Louisiana Tech, and Marcus Lattimore, a running back from South Carolina

Fifth Round:

  • drafted Quinton Dial, a defensive end from Alabama

Sixth Round:

  • drafted Nick Moody, an OLB from Florida State

Final Round:

  • drafted quarterback B.J. Daniels from South Florida, offensive tackle Carter Bykowski from Iowa State, and cornerback Marcus Cooper from Rutgers
