The Boys Tennis team has had a tough season but they managed to come out with a fourth place standing in the Peninsula Athletic League (PAL) “Ocean” division.

This year’s team had twenty-three players at the beginning of the season.  The ten top players make up the varsity lineup while the remaining guys are placed in the Open team.  However, the tennis ladder is always changing and the boys moved up the line up as they progressed in the sport.  Junior Chris Uy stated “We challenge whoever is higher up on the ladder than us.  Sometimes it’s fun but it can also get frustrating when you want to move up but you end up losing.  I challenged someone three times before I could move up the ladder.”

The boys have been conditioning since early January and will be playing their final match on Tuesday against Hillsdale, who is currently undefeated. During their first match with Hillsdale, many of the senior players were absent due to Senior Exhibition preparation and the boys tennis team ended up losing the game.

However, the boys tennis team has been practicing a lot more since then and earned a few victories.  They want to win their final match and it will be held at Oceana’s tennis courts.

Come support the boys tennis team at 3:30 on Thursday, April 18 against their last match for the season against Hillsdale.
