The San Francisco Giants opened up their home stand at AT&T Park on April 5-7 against the St. Louis Cardinals.
On Friday, April 5, the World Series Champions flag, which was delivered by boat to the stadium before pre-game festivities, was put into Bruce Bochy’s hands, who gave it to his players to be raised to add to their collection of World Series wins. Also, the first 40,000 fans who were at the April 5 game received Opening Day Calendars and mini championship flags which were presented by AT&T.
On Saturday, April 6, former Giants MVPs were in attendance to honor 2012 National League MVP Buster Posey during the pre-game ceremony. The first 40,000 fans received Buster Posey bobble heads.
On Sunday, April 7, the Giants were honored for their World Series win by receiving their rings. The first 40,000 fans got a replica World Series ring and championship fan jewelry collection postcards while all kids 14 years old and younger were invited to run the bases following the game.
On Monday, April 8, when they finished their home stand against the Colorado Rockies for a three game series, the first 20,000 fans received a Giants magnet schedule. They won the first game, 1-0 and lost the other two, 3-6 and 3-14, against the Cardinals. The Giants also won the opening series against the Rockies, 4-2.
