For the first time in many years, instead of having rally in the gym, ASB has decided to have a field day.
“ASB wanted to change rally so that the classes would work together instead of being pitted against each other,” said Nemiah Guimbatan, ASB President.
During rallies, students usually sit with their class and participate in games against other grades. But this time, sophomores and juniors are playing against the seniors and freshmen in different types of games. “There’s going to be outdoor games in which everyone can participate. There will be team activities that are unique and classic, such as capture the flag,” Guimbatan also said.
Setting up rallies, though, is not as fun as it sounds. “It is exhausting and it takes months of preparing for rally,” Ms. Bookwalter said. “ASB and I organize the rally. There are two appointed rally commissioners who do a lot of work, but we usually work as a team.” With the help of ASB, and a new idea for this rally, they are hoping the work will be worth it.
